(BEAVER DAM) Beaver Dam leaders are about to take some important first steps in hiring a new city administrator. Acting administrator Jay Shambeau is also a partner in the consulting firm helping the city find candidates. Since Beaver Dam has only had an administrator form of governance for three years, he says it’s a rare chance for an administrator to make a big impact.
“Department heads are new in understanding and receiving that form of governance, and so are the alderpersons. That’s really an opportunity,” said Shambeau.
Alders will hold a workshop next Monday, June 30. Then the search will formally start on July 1. Shambeau says a new administrator could be hired in three to six months.
