Scott Fred Hilscher

Scott Fred Hilscher, age 54 of Markesan, fought a battle with cancer for five years and surrendered on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his home with his loving wife at his side.

Scott was born on March 21, 1967, in Ripon, WI, son of Lester and Mary Jane (Beyer) Hilscher Sr. He was united in marriage to Nikola Stobb on April 26, 1986, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater. Scott was a big supporter of the kids’ and grandkids’ athletic activities.  He loved attending music events and concerts. Scott was an avid Packer, Badger fan and enjoyed attending WIAA Boys Basketball games with the guys and Auto Racing with John’s crew. The last five years he loved spending time at the camper with family and friends. In 1986, Scott began his service to our community by joining the Grand River Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter where he served as Captain and Treasurer. After 36 years Scott retired from Ripon Printers in 2021. He will be deeply missed by many.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Nikki Hilscher; two children, Heather (Craig) Shaver of Brandon and Kyle (Christina) Hilscher of Markesan; six grandchildren, Connor, Holly and Cayden Shaver and Jack, Beau and Ella Hilscher; sister, Pat Lisko of Beaver Dam; two brothers, Lester (Kathy) Hilscher of Ripon and Henry (Debbie) Hilscher of Ripon; brother-in-law, Brad (Susan) Stobb of North Carolina and sister-in-law, Tanya (Joe) Sullivan of Brandon; father-in-law, Orv Stobb; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; further survived by his close friends, Joel Strahota, Jerry Balis, John Zimmerman, Chuck Daye, Jeff Wesner and Winder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faye (Don) Flynn; brother-in-law, Dean Lisko; mother-in-law, Colleen Stobb.

A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at The Markesan Fire Department, 877 North Margaret Street, WI.

A private memorial service will be held.

“We will miss his strong opinions, but we know he’ll be on every bleacher cheering us on.”

Family would like to thank Dr Jones, Kelly and Mary at Agnesian Cancer Center of Fond du Lac and staff of Hospice Hope, Janine and Ariel for all of their wonderful care and support given to Scott and his family.

A memorial fund has been established in Scott’s name, to be decided at a later date.
