9/25/17 – Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt has graduated from the National Sheriff’s Institute. Last week, Schmidt took part in their national conference in Aurora, Colorado. The session trained Schmidt and 29 other sheriffs on contemporary challenges facing America’s sheriffs today. Areas of focus included effective leadership, public safety, criminal justice system policy, community relations, and organization effectiveness and efficiency. National Sheriff’s Association Director of Professional Development Hilary Burges called Schmidt a (quote) “leader with vision for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.” She said it was an honor to have Schmidt join the more than 2,800 graduates of the Institute since 1973.” The no-cost program is co-sponsored by the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) and the National Institute of Corrections (NIC).
