The Randolph High School football team will have plenty of new faces on the field in 2021 but still expect to contend in the Trailways Conference. Randolph returns just two of fifteen players named All-Trailways Conference in 2020. They were linebacker Travis Alvin and receiver Sam Grieger.
Because of COVID protocols, Coach Tom Chase was forced to go deeper down the depth chart than he normally would have last season, but that experience gained by underclassmen should help the team this year. “We got some other kids that got a little more playing time last year that were younger kids that will be able to help us this year.” Chase said. “I think in general it did make us stronger.
Coach Chase told DailyDodge.com that he expects the Rockets to be solid on both sides of the ball this season. “Our skill guys are OK and our offensive line, I think, is probably going to be one of the better ones we’ve had in the three years I’ve been here. Defensively, we’ll be quick. We’ll be fast to the football. We just have to make sure we can cover on the back end. I think we can do that.
Tom Chase’s squad went 6-3 and 4-1 in Trailways Conference play in 2020. Their four league wins was the most by any school in conference play.
The Rockets open up their 2021 season on Friday, August 20th when they host Rosholt. Randolph’s game on September 10th at Fall River/Rio will be broadcast on DailyDodge TV.
