Rhonda Lee Nelson passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2024 at the age of 74.
Rhonda was born on July 8, 1949 to Donald and Betty (Wallendal) Hess in Beaver Dam. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School, Rhonda worked at Aurora BayCare in De Pere and as a line worker at Plumbers in Algoma. She enjoyed life to the fullest; entertaining family and friends with cookouts, dancing, and listening to her “boyfriend” Elvis. She will be sorely missed by family and her many friends.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, Roger Nelson; children, Darwin (Carrie) Young of Fox Lake, Angela (Mike VanPay) Esquivel of De Pere, Shannon (Katie) Schmidt of Beaver Dam, and Elizabeth (Omar) Custodio of Maryland; stepson, Roger (Christa) Nelson, Jr. of Oshkosh; sister, Luana Kuhlman of Beaver Dam; brother, Don Hess of South Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Mike Wallendal; stepdaughter, Barbara Nelson; and grandparents.
Visitation for Rhonda will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, town of Trenton.
