Regional Vehicle Sales Through April See Declining Numbers

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in the region through April have seen a sharp decline. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg Trak, there have been a total of 1,098 car and light truck sales in Dodge County in the first four months of 2022, 365 less than in 2021 or a decrease of nearly 25-percent. Car sales were down 34-percent while truck sales dropped 23-percent.

In Columbia County, auto sales saw a decline of 31-percent with 683 vehicles rolling off dealer lots through the end of April. Car sales in Columbia County were down around 40-percent while truck sales decreased 30-percent.

Jefferson County dealers sold 701 vehicles, which is 344 less than they did last year by this time for a decrease of nearly 33-percent. Car sales in Jefferson County were down 33-percent while truck sales saw a decline of 32-percent.

For the nine-county, South Central Wisconsin Region, there were 11-thousand vehicles sold, four-thousand less than by this time last year, a 25-percent decrease. Truck sales in the region were down 24-percent while car sales decreased nearly 30-percent.
