Regional Vehicle Sales See Slight Increase In January

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in the region in the first month of the year were on a bit of an uptick when compared to 2022.

According to the Waterloo-based industry-tracking firm Reg-Trak, there were 227 vehicle sales in Dodge County last month, which is one more sold than in January of 2022. That one extra sale was a car, and there was 20 total sales last month while there was 19 last year. Truck sales were exactly the same with 207.

In Columbia County, vehicle sales were up 13-percent with 159 sold, 19 more than the same timeframe last year. Truck sales were up 8-percent while car sales doubled from eight to sixteen.

In Jefferson County, 185 vehicles rolled off dealer lots last month, just over 12-percent more than the 165 sold the previous January. Car sales saw a jump of 43-percent while truck sales increased by just under nine-percent.

The nine-county, south-central Wisconsin region as a whole experienced an 18-percent jump with 3,044 vehicle sales. Truck sales in the region were up 15-percent while car sales increased by 41-percent.
