(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims saw improvement in the month of October. The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.5-percent in the 10th month of 2023 which is a drop from the 2.8-percent the county saw in September.
Last year, the number was 2.3-percent. Dodge County jumped two spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to seventh.
Columbia Countyโs jobless numbers improved by two-tenths of a percentage point to 2.6-percent in October. The figure last year was 2.3-percent.
Jefferson Countyโs unemployment rate fell by three-tenths of a percent to 2.7-percent last month. A year ago the figure was 2.4-percent.
Fond du Lac County saw the same month-to-month change as Columbia County, going down two-tenths of a percent to 2.6. Their number last year was 2.3-percent. Statewide, the unemployment rate was 3.2-percent last month. The labor force participation rate held steady at 65.8-percent, around three-percent higher than the national rate.
