Regional Jobless Numbers Held Steady In March

(Dodge County) Jobless claims in the region stayed relatively steady in the month of March. The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.9-percent in the third month of 2022, down a tenth of a percent from February.

Last year, the figure was 4.2-percent. Dodge County moved up three spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to 13th.

Fond du Lac County saw their jobless numbers stay the same from February to March at 2.8-percent. In 2021, the figure was 4.2-percent.

Columbia County unemployment went down two-tenths of a percent to 3.1 last month. A year ago, the county reported a rate of 4.6-percent.

Jefferson County also saw minimal change month-over-month with a 3.1-percent mark in March following a 3.3-percent rate in February. Their numbers in 2021 were 4.4-percent.

Statewide jobless numbers hit a record low in March with 2.8-percent.
