Regional Auto Sales Through March A Mixed Bag

(Dodge County) Regional vehicle sales through the first three months of the year are a mixed bag when compared to 2021.

According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg Trak, there have been a total of 681 car and light truck sales in Dodge County through March of 2023, 152 less than last year or a decrease of over 18-percent. Car sales were down seven-percent while truck sales dipped 19-percent.

In Columbia County, auto sales saw a drop of five-percent with 477 vehicles rolling off dealer lots through the end of March. Car sales in the county were down two-percent while truck sales decreased by six-percent.

Jefferson County dealers sold 555 vehicles, which was 14 more than they did last year by this time for an increase of two-percent. Car sales in the county were down one-percent while truck sales saw a jump of three-percent.

For the nine-county, South Central Wisconsin Region as a whole, there were 9,132 vehicles sold, 287 more than by this time a year ago, a three-percent increase. Truck sales in the region were up nearly two-percent while car sales jumped by 11-percent.
