Referendum To Take Place On Whether Fox Lake Can Detach from Waupun School District

It’s official. There will be a referendum to decide whether the city and town of Fox Lake can detach from the Waupun School District and join Randolph’s district. That comes after the Concerned Area Residents for Education officially filed a petition that contained the signatures of 900 registered voters in the district. Now residents in both districts will head to the polls in November to determine if the city and town can make the switch. The idea of detachment came after a failed referendum in February and the subsequent decision by Waupun administration to cover a 1-million-dollar budget deficit by closing three elementary schools, including Fox Lake.
