Reeseville Man Found Guilty Of Second Degree Sexual Assault Of A Child

(Emmet) A Reeseville man was found guilty Tuesday of assaulting a child. Marcus Statz entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. Two additional felony charges were dismissed but read into the record. Authorities with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office were assigned to investigate a reported sexual assault that occurred at a farm in the Town of Emmet between October and January of last year. Investigators also found that Statz sent suggestive messages through Facebook to the teenage victim. The 47-year-old faces up to 40 years in prison. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and Statz is due back in court on February 14th.
