Reeseville Man Convicted On Escape Charge

(Beaver Dam) A Reeseville man was convicted Wednesday of trying to run from police while in custody. Ricky Hardy pled guilty to one felony count of Escape and had a misdemeanor charge of Obstructing an Officer dismissed but read into the record. Officers with the Reeseville Police Department were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street in June of last year to take Hardy into custody. The 41-year-old was wanted on a parole violation. After the homeowner refused entry, police were waiting for a search warrant when they spotted Hardy running from the home on foot. Following a brief chase, and being Tazed multiple times, Hardy was arrested and transported to the Beaver Dam Hospital. When the ambulance arrived, Hardy again fled on foot but gave himself up a short distance later. Hardy was placed on probation for three years.
