Reeseville Man Charged In Connection To Weekend Stabbing Incident

(Reeseville) Cash bond was set at $100-thousand-dollars Monday for a Reeseville man charged in connection to a weekend stabbing incident in the village. Jose Damian Pineda is facing multiple felonies including Attempted First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Substantial Battery, Armed Burglary, and a misdemeanor charge of Criminal Damage to Property.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to 404 Lincoln Avenue just before 8pm on Saturday. Damian Pineda was reportedly located wielding a knife and was taken into custody. Authorities quickly learned that there was a victim who suffered three serious, but non-life-threatening stab wounds to the head and neck area.

Damian Pineda told authorities he was drunk and angry, and allegedly admitted to drinking an alcoholic beverage before the attack. When Damian Pineda was asked by investigators if his intent was to kill the victim, he reportedly said (quote) “I’m not sure if it was, I’m not sure if it wasn’t.” According to the complaint, Damian Pineda continued to say, “I’m not sure what went through my head when I did it, I just did it.”

If convicted, the 21-year-old faces just under 25 years in prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 18th.
