Reeseville Man Appears On Felony Escape Charge

(Beaver Dam) A Reeseville man made his initial appearance in court Monday on charges he attempted to flee police while in custody. Ricky Hardy is facing a felony count of Escape and a misdemeanor charge of Obstructing an Officer. In June, officers with the Reeseville Police Department were dispatched to a residence on North Main Street to take Hardy into custody. The 41-year-old was wanted on a parole violation. After the homeowner refused entry, police were waiting for a search warrant when they spotted Hardy allegedly running from the home on foot. Following a brief chase and being Tazed multiple times, Hardy was arrested and transported to the Beaver Dam Hospital. When the ambulance arrived, Hardy again reportedly fled on foot but gave himself up a short distance later. If convicted, Hardy faces over six years in prison. Signature bond was set at $10,000 dollars and Hardy waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Arraignment is set for next month.
