(Beaver Dam) A Reeseville man accused of leading deputies on a high speed chase early New Year’s Day made his initial appearance in court Tuesday. William Pace is charged with one felony count of Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. A Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy reportedly spotted Pace early New Years Day driving 70-miles-per-hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone on North Spring Street in Beaver Dam. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, Pace allegedly took off and drove at speeds over 90-miles-per-hour for roughly four miles before he came to stop near Cooper Street. According to the criminal complaint, he reportedly told authorities he ran because he had been drinking and did not have a license. The 20-year-old allegedly blew a .04 during a preliminary breath test. If convicted, Pace faces no more than three-and-a-half years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 dollars and a judge will decide next month if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
