Reckless Homicide Suspect Gets Bond Reduction

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man accused of providing the drugs that killed a Reeseville man was in court Wednesday for a motion hearing. Jason Thompson is facing one felony count of First Degree Reckless Homicide in the death of James Hook. The 62-year-old was found unresponsive in his apartment two years ago. An autopsy revealed heroin was in his system. Investigators say the 41-year-old Thompson sold the heroin to Hook. Thompson had cash bond set at $50,000 dollars in April and his attorney was seeking a bond reduction. Prosecutors opposed the motion but the court ultimately agreed to modify the bond down to $25,000.  If convicted, he faces up to 46-years in prison.
