Randolph Man Charged With Issuing Forged Checks

(Randolph) A Randolph man was charged with issuing multiple forged checks. Zachary Haffele is facing 10 felony counts of Forgery and a misdemeanor charge of Bail Jumping. A Randolph police officer began investigating a report of stolen checks last November. According to the criminal complaint, the victims allegedly identified Haffele as the suspect in the case and that their personal checkbook as well as an additional 20-to-25 checks were missing. The checks were reportedly passed at several area businesses including Rechecks, Beaver Dam’s Piggly Wiggly, and Horicon Bank in Horicon. The total amount issued was $3,080. Haffele reportedly would get passerby’s to cash the checks for him by saying he needed the money but didn’t have an ID on him. If convicted, the 34-year-old faces 60 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for March 22nd.
