(Horicon) A public trapping auction will be held at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center Wednesday. The event is being hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Personnel from both organizations will be on hand to review trapping seasons and regulations, unit boundaries, trapping permits, and other information before bidding. Trapping permits will be issued to the successful bidders following the auction.
There will be 11 marsh units up for bid with one reserved for youth between the ages of 12 and 17 and another for seniors or trappers with a disability. The DNR will also offer 11 wetland units during the 2022-23 trapping season.
