(Beaver Dam) Progress is being made on a project to expand the Beaver Dam American Legion. The chapter began saving for the addition shortly after occupying the building located on 300 Beichl Avenue in 2006. Project Manager and Legion Member Bob Koch says new space added over 1,700 square feet onto the existing structure and most of the work has been completed through volunteerism.
The west side of the building expanded 20 feet to accommodate the new office and storage space as well as create room for a larger bar area. Koch says the electrical, plumping, heating and sprinkler system are all in place as well as the fire alarms which have passed inspection.
Koch says while the Legion has been saving for the past 12 years they are still looking for monetary donations from other members and the community to cover the estimated $175,000 project cost. For more information you can contact the Beaver Dam American Legion at 920-887-7777.
