Cross Country
The Wayland Academy Cross Country Team competed at the Rebel Invitational at Rio High School. Led by a second-place finish from Drew Benson(17:49), and medal-winning performances from Nelson Mitchell(9th place, 18:48) and Sam Porras(14th place, 18:58), the boys’ team finished 2nd out of 12 teams. On the girls’ varsity side, Maria Jose Acon battled through a tough field to grab a 16th place(24:42) medal. The Big Red will be back at this week Thursday at The River Run Invitational hosted by Horicon High School.
