Preliminary Hearing Waived in Mayville Sexual Assault Case

(Mayville) A Mayville man accused of repeatedly assaulting a minor was in court yesterday (Thursday). Nicholas Selerski waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over for trial on a felony charge of Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child. According to the complaint, the victim’s mother called police last month to report that her preteen daughter was assaulted by Selerski. The victim allegedly said Selerski would have her inappropriately touch him numerous occasions between May and June. When questioned, Selerski at first denied anything had happened but reportedly admitted later that the touches were accidental. If convicted, the 32-year-old faces 60 years in prison. Selerski will be arraigned in September.
