Portage Man Arrested Following Pursuit With Columbia County Authorities

(Portage) A Portage man was arrested over the weekend for fleeing a domestic incident. Columbia County deputies responded to a residence in Lewiston around 9pm Saturday night for an on-going domestic situation.

Authorities learned that a male suspect left the home in a vehicle which was later spotted by a deputy on Highway 127. An attempted traffic stop failed, and the vehicle continued to flee at a high rate of speed, heading towards Portage. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed at the Cascade Mountain Road exit.

The suspect, reportedly identified as Marcus Williams, fled on foot but was taken into custody a short time later. The 31-year-old is facing charges of Fleeing, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Battery, and Resisting. Williams is being held at the Columbia County Jail.
