(Jefferson) One person was killed following a single-vehicle crash in the town of Jefferson Monday evening. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to County Highway Y just before 10pm.
The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Y when it failed to negotiate a curve just north of Vogel Road. This caused the vehicle to roll several times before coming to a rest in a field on the east side of the road. The driver was pinned in the vehicle.
He was extricated and life saving measures were attempted, but were unsuccessful. Authorities say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
