(Juneau) Pernat-Haase Meats has issued a recall for one of their products. The Juneau-based business is recalling Italian salami with wine, between one and one-and-a-half pounds, packaged on March 17th. The salami was distributed to retailers in the Juneau, Ixonia, and Johnson Creek areas. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection say this is a Class Two recall resulting from evidence collected during a routine inspection by the state. They say the evidence shows that the product contained monosodium glutamate, or MSG, but was misbranded as no MSG added. No illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming this product. Anyone with signs or symptoms of a foodborne illness should contact their doctor. Consumers who have any of these products should throw them away.
