Peak Fall Colors Today

Forecasters say best time to see fall colors is this weekend. According to the state’s official Fall Color Report, the red, orange, and yellow leaves are at 90-to-100 percent of their peaks in the vast majority of the state, including the Horicon Marsh Area, Beaver Dam and Green Lake. Peaks in the 70-percent range include Jefferson County, Lake Geneva, Janesville, Beloit, and Kenosha. The Oshkosh and Manitowoc areas are at just over half their peaks. The best colors are already gone in the Park Falls, Hayward, Medford, and Chippewa Falls areas. The leaves appear to be their brightest in years, and officials credit a number of factors – including the dry weather for much of the year.
