PAVE Shares 2017 Statistics

12/27/17 – Dodge County’s only domestic violence shelter gave an update on the number of victims they have aided during 2017. Ashley Welak is the System Specialist of PAVE, People Against A Violent Environment. She says through November there have been 3,647 nights of shelter, the organization has taking 986 crises calls, and services have been provided to 298 victims. In 2016 the non-profit provided 3687 nights of shelter. There were 658 individual victims served in 2016. Welak says the PAVE shelter usually sees a dip in calls during the holidays. She says victims are around family and can be too scared to call for services plus added stress with holiday planning is a factor. Anyone who needs PAVE’s services should get in touch with the group. PAVE’s crises lines are 800-775-3785 and 920-887-3785. They also have a texting hotline which is 920-344-0123. Their email is pave@peopleagainstaviolentenvironment.com.
