PAVE Purchases City-Owned Land For New Facility

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council Monday night approved the sale of 4.4-acres of land for Dodge County’s only domestic violence shelter to build a new facility. PAVE – which stands for Protect, Advocate, Validate and Educate – has been talking about moving into a newer, larger facility for years. PAVE Board of Directors Chair Ken Ostermann says they moved into their current location in 1990 but have unfortunately continued to grow. He says the current shelter does not serve the needs of their clients or the community. The purchase price is $5000-per acre for the land located on North Crystal Lake Road, adjacent to Wal-Mart and Goodwill.
