(Beaver Dam) The local group that helps domestic abuse victims is holding a fundraiser next month. People Against a Violent Environment, or PAVE, has its annual ‘Sweet Thanks’ event at Beaver Dam’s Chapel of the Archangels. Sweet Thanks is highlighted by a dessert auction where a variety of cakes and other treats are up for bid. Executive Director Teresa Nienow explains how the proceeds are used. She says the funds are used to cover areas where state and federal grants cannot support such as their texting hotline and specialized services. There is also a silent auction which will feature a 50-inch TV, margarita packages, Green Bay Packer memorabilia, spa and massage deals, wine baskets, as well as gift cards. Sweet Thanks will take place on March 2 beginning at 5:30pm and end at roughly 9:00pm. Tickets are available ahead of time at Rechek’s Food Pride and Piggly Wiggly, or interested individuals can pay the $15 dollar entry fee at the door.
