Partial Dam Collapse In Hustisford

9/7/12 – There was a partial dam collapse in Hustisford Thursday afternoon. Authorities were called to the scene around 2:20pm. Dodge County Emergency Management Director Joe Meagher says there is no damage to the portion of the dam that holds back the waters of Lake Sinissippi. It was the catwalk around the dam that toppled. A company had pulled a barge up to the edge of the dam to work on the concrete and was cutting rebar when the structure collapsed. One worker was trapped underneath the rubble. Emergency responders used chainsaws and concrete saws to remove him. He was not injured. None of the homes or businesses below the dam were evacuated. Meagher says officials are working with dam experts from the Department of Natural Resources and the company that was working on the dam in making repairs.
