Park Plaza Pizza Slated To Receive City Grant For Storefront Remodel

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Development Committee on Tuesday approved a $10-thousand-dollar grant for improvements to a downtown business. Park Plaza Pizza will see a storefront remodel that includes new awnings, signage, outdoor lighting, landscaping and a fresh coat of paint, carrying a price tag of around $20-thousand dollars. The money for the grant is generated from the downtown Tax Increment Finance District #6, which is a blight elimination TIF that is expected to generate over a half-million dollars in excess increment in the next 16 years. Other projects that recently received similar grant funding include Tranquil Healing on Front Street which is getting $20-thousand dollars to compliment $59-thousand dollars being spent on exterior renovations. Nunatak Coffee has received $80-thousand in grants as part of their $400-thousand dollar expansion and relocation to South Spring Street. The grant funding is contingent upon council approval on Monday night.
