Ooga Brewing Wins Gold At World Beer Cup

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam brewery won big at the World Beer Cup. Ooga Brewing was a first place finisher for their Holla! Jalapeno Cream Ale in the Chili Beer category. Chili beer usually contains hot pepper juice, oils, peppers – most commonly jalapenos.

Officials with the World Beer Cup say this year’s competition was the largest ever, after the bi-annual event took 2020 off due to the pandemic. There were over 10-thousand entries from nearly 25-hundred breweries representing 57 countries. Each category averaged about 102 entries.

The beers were evaluated by a panel of 226 judges from 28 countries. The World Beer Cup is an international competition organized by the Brewers Association.
