(Fond du Lac) One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in the township of Fond du Lac over the weekend. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene on Highway 151 near Interstate 41 around 5:44pm Saturday.
A pickup truck heading south on 151 was approaching the stop lights at highway speeds. The truck collided into the rear of two vehicles that were stopped for the traffic lights, a black passenger car and a white SUV. The black passenger car was occupied by a 58-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, both from Waukesha.
The 58-year-old did not have a pulse when first responders arrived and despite life-saving efforts, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 62-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 56-year-old man from Oshkosh, was treated at the hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the SUV were uninjured. Authorities say speed and alcohol are contributing factors in the crash.
