One person Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash In Green Lake

(Green Lake) One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Green Lake Monday morning. Read the full press release:

On Monday, August 16, 2021 at approximately 7:41am, Green Lake County Sheriff’s E911 Communications Center received multiple 911 calls concerning a motor vehicle crash on STH 73 at CTH H in the Town of Green Lake.  Initial reports indicated that there may have been up to 3 vehicles involved.

At 7:45am, Green Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, began arriving on scene.  They were able to determine that there were 2 vehicles involved and 3 persons who needed medical attention.  A gray sedan was eastbound on CTH H.  A straight truck used for painting roadways was traveling North on STH 73.  The sedan did not stop at the stop sign and struck the truck upon entering the intersection.  A 74 year old female was operating the gray sedan.  That patient was transported to Ripon Medical Center by Southern Green Lake County Ambulance Service and died as a result of the crash injuries.  The paint truck rolled onto it’s side, and the 2 male occupants aged 24 and 30 of that vehicle were transported by ambulance.  Their injuries were non-life threatening.  Markesan Fire Department, Markesan Police Department and Markesan Emergency Government assisted at the scene. Wisconsin State Patrol was requested to assist in the investigation.   STH 73 was closed for approximately 7 hours.  The highway was reopened shortly before 3pm.

This traffic crash is being investigated by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Patrol.  The investigation is ongoing.
