One Injured in Bicycle vs SUV Accident

(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded Yesterday (Saturday) morning around 11:19am to a motor vehicle crash in the Township of Beaver Dam.  The incident occurred at the intersection of HWY 33 and Peachy Road.  Initial investigation shows a 48-year-old Florida man was traveling north via bicycle on HWY 33 when they were struck by an SUV driven by a 52-year-old Beaver Dam man.  The SUV was traveling west on Peachy Road and turned south on HWY 33 when it made contact with the bicycle.  The cyclist was wearing a helmet, but still sustained severe injuries and was transported to Marshfield Medical Clinic in Beaver Dam before being flown by Flight for Life to UW Hospital in Madison.  The driver of the SUV was not injured.  The incident remains under investigation.  Assisting on the scene were the Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam Police Department, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Flight for Life, and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
