North Fond Du Lac Man Given Jail Time For Second OWI Offense

(Town of Trenton) A North Fond du Lac man charged with running from Dodge County deputies while drunk was sentenced Monday to 20 days in jail with work release privileges. Mackenzie Rea Trosper entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of Operating While Intoxicated Second Offense. A felony charge of Fleeing was dismissed. Deputies attempted to stop Trosper in December for speeding on Highway 151 in the Town of Trenton, but the vehicle accelerated to over 130-miles-per-hour. The 30-year-old eventually stopped and was arrested by Beaver Dam officers. When questioned, Trosper told police that he had no idea what they were talking about, that he was not the suspect that authorities were looking for and he only got off the highway to find a restroom while on his way to Illinois to see his dying grandmother. He refused a preliminary breath test but a blood draw indicated that his blood alcohol level was nearly two-times the legal limit for driving at point-one-five (.151). In addition to jail, Trosper was placed on probation for 18 months.
