Norbert (Norman) Ewald Muchow

Norbert (Norman) Ewald Muchow, 77, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. He was born in Reedsburg on July 6, 1947, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy. Norman attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Reedsburg, where he never missed a day of school. He began his career as a dairy farmer, serving as the president of the Young Farmers Club, and worked diligently on his family farm in Reedsburg for several decades. His commitment to hard work and community continued when he joined Lands’ End, where he worked for more than 15 years.

A lifelong Elvis fan, Norman found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for wildlife and truly enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels, traveling, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Denise Muchow (née Holman), and his daughters, Lynette Foxx (Michael Tucker, deceased), Angie (Martha) Truby, Amy Muchow, and Nikki (Mike) Degner. He was a proud grandfather to Klaira Lerma, Hailey Foxx, Michael Foxx, Tim Onsrud, Crystal Degner, and Jason Degner. He is further survived by his mother-in-law Irene Holman, brothers and sisters-in-law Kevin (Marie) Holman, Shelly (Eric) Degner, Tom (Crystal) Holman, Julie (Bobby) Callaway Spratt, and many other family members and friends.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Ewald and Viola Muchow (née Harms), his father-in-law Loren Holman, his sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Jim Stephens, and his brother-in-law Craig Callaway.

The family wishes to thank Denise Herbst and Kim of SSM Health Hospice Services, Dr. Michael Allan, MD and Lyndsey Christenson, APNP/CNP of SSM Health, Dr. Swen Hilander, MD of Marshfield Medical Center of Beaver Dam and all of the caring staff and community at Charleston House Assisted Living in Beaver Dam, WI—especially Joy and Tameika—for giving such loving care to Norman in the last part of his life.
