Volunteers Sought For Red Kettle Campaign

(Beaver Dam) The Noon Kiwanis Club of Beaver Dam is looking for volunteers to ring bells during this year’s Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. During the annual effort, volunteers collect funds outside of a number of area businesses, including Walgreens, Piggly Wiggly, Rechek’s Food Pride, Fleet Farm and Walmart. The Kiwanis are looking for people to sign up for two-hour shifts between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Campaign Co-Chair Jack Hankes says there is a new way to sign up this year. He says the Salvation Army has asked people to use their national registration program www.registertoring.com. Roughly 90-percent of the proceeds stay in Dodge County to help those in need locally. Campaign Co-Chair Jack Hankes says the rest of the money goes toward state projects such as disaster services and a drug treatment center. Kiwanis will also be collecting donations at this year’s 11th Annual Red Kettle Concert. The concert will start at 4pm on Sunday, December 8th at the Beaver Dam High School.
