No Injuries Reported In Car Versus Train Crash In Town Of Burnett

(Town of Burnett) No injuries were reported and no roads were blocked in a car versus train accident in the Town of Burnett that occurred Friday afternoon. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the railroad crossing at Cross Street in the unincorporated area of Burnett shortly after 12pm. The preliminary investigation shows that a Jeep Rubicon being operated by a 27-year-old Mayville man collided with a northbound Wisconsin Southern freight train. Following the impact, the train was able to stop prior to crossing State Highway 26, preventing further accidents. The driver of the jeep was the only occupant and did not report any injuries. The train engine was occupied by an engineer and conductor, neither of which suffered injuries. Assisting at the scene were the Horicon EMS, Burnett Fire Department, First Responders and the Dodge County Emergency Management. The crash is still under investigation.
