(Beaver Dam) The superintendent of the Beaver Dam School District says there is no credibility to a student hit list posted on social media. Mark DiStefano says administrators received information about the potential threat on Monday and took immediate action. The district worked with the Beaver Dam Police Department in determining that, while the student was frustrated by peers, there was no credible threat associated with the (quote) “inappropriate posting.” He says everything is business as usual for the remainder of the school year. DiStefano notes that the discipline for this type of irresponsible and inconsiderate actions is severe. He says the incident serves as a reminder to parents to stay very involved in our children’s social media presence and help promote safe and respectful use. DiStefano adds that the district continues to be committed to safety.
