(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam School District officials are updating parents regarding a situation that took place outside an elementary school on Tuesday. It was reported that an older model green SUV may have stopped some elementary students walking home from Jefferson Elementary and offered them a ride in the area of East Davis and South Lincoln. Officials say the students denied the offer and nothing came of the incident. Extra patrols have been requested in and around areas where elementary school neighborhoods reside. 

(Watertown) Anyone with information surrounding a gas station armed robbery in Watertown is asked to contact the authorities. Around 1am on Tuesday, the Speedway gas station located at 104 North Church Street was robbed. Law enforcement says an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. The suspect is believed to a white man between five-foot-six-inches and five-foot-nine-inches tall, and weighing 150 to 170 pounds.

(Fond du Lac) A former Washington County police officer already facing child sex charges has been convicted of bestiality. Steven Rosales of Kewaskum pleaded guilty to three counts of bestiality. Evidence of those crimes were discovered while West Bend police were investigating the other case, where Rosales is accused of inappropriate conduct with a student while serving as a school resource officer. The 35-year-old will be back in court in November. 

(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims saw some slight improvements in the eighth month of the year. The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.5-percent in August, a three-tenths of a percent improvement from July. Last year, the number was 2.9-percent. Dodge County did fall to 28th in the statewide unemployment ranking, which is tied with multiple other counties, after being ranked ninth in July. 

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Recreation Department is Sending Hugs to Vets this Friday at the Watermark from 10am to 3pm. Attendees will be able to help create uplifting greeting cards that will be delivered to residents of Veteran’s Homes in Wisconsin. Those interested are welcome to stay for the entire duration of the workshop or can come and go as they see fit. Attendees aged 60 years or older are encouraged to bring their own lunch or sign up to have lunch at Dodge County Senior Living.
