(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam School District superintendent is thankful for the support of the community in passing a referendum question. Just over 52-percent of voters who cast a ballot supported the $107-million-dollar referendum. Mark Distefano says the district is appreciative of the community engagement throughout this process. He says the district will release community-wide communication on the next steps in the design process and how the construction management firm will work to engage local subcontractors.
(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam’s new mayor-elect shared her thoughts about being voted into the position. Bobbi Marck was the top vote-getter with 4,105 votes. She defeated Jack Yuds who finished with 3,447 votes. Marck says the outcome is “exciting.” Marck currently serves as the District two alderperson.
(Beaver Dam) The fifth installment of a mural in Downtown Beaver Dam was unveiled Wednesday afternoon. John B. McKinstry spent his life being of service to the community in Beaver Dam and was honored by 100 children and adults who created a seven-foot mosaic mural of his image. The mural can be seen from outside the west entrance of the Beaver Dam Community Theater building, located at 117 West Maple Avenue.
(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Badger State Sheriff’s Association in raising funds for hurricane relief. The Association is implementing the Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs program to help agency employees in Florida and North Carolina. The relief program is designed to help sheriffs’ staff and their families who have personally been impacted by this natural disaster. In Dodge County donations can be dropped off at the sheriff’s office or mailed to Sheriff Dale Schmidt at 124 West Street in Juneau.
(Columbus) Columbus High School’s Production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premieres Friday. The show starts at 7pm at the Columbus High School Gymnasium. The performance continues Saturday at 7pm and Sunday, November 17th at 1pm for the matinee.
