(Juneau) Dodgeland High School recently announced the three newest inductees to the Alumni Hall of Fame on Monday, October 21st. During the ceremony, students had the unique opportunity to hear the incredible stories of inspiration of Dodgeland’s newest Hall of Fame inductees. The Dodgeland Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes and honors exceptional former graduates of the district who have achieved significant milestones, made outstanding contributions to society, or demonstrated exemplary leadership in their fields. This year’s inductees are: Eugene Clifford, Juneau High School Class of 1904, Daniel Klossner, Juneau High School Class of 1966, and Frederick Pingel, Juneau High School Class of 1966.
(Randolph) The Wisconsin Rural School Alliance recently named Randolph High School English Teacher, Jessica Daugherty, teacher of the year and also named Randolph Elementary Principal Christy Fay as Principal of the year. The Wisconsin Rural School Alliance provides a unified voice for rural schools at the local, state, and federal levels, celebrates the incredible achievements of rural schools, and curates research, news, events, and resources for rural educators. Nearly 70% of Wisconsin school districts are considered “rural”, making it a priority of the state to prioritize the unique needs of these educators and students. (Horicon) Horicon Bank recently became an Elite Platinum Sponsor of the Horicon Marshmen Foundation thanks to a $5,000 dollar donation. (Fond du Lac) Moraine Park Technical College recently received a $450,000 donation from Milwaukee Tool. The donation includes 350 tools and $50,000 in funding to directly support the growth of several programs at the college. The programs receiving funding are: Fire protection/EMS, Carpentry Apprenticeship, Electrical Power Distribution, Electromechanical Technology, and CNC Tool and Die Technologies.
(Columbus) Columbus Public Library staffer, quilter, and instructor Pat Trapp will be conducting a tote bag sewing workshop at the library for residents on November 9 at 9am. The kit produces a beautiful tote bag suitable for holiday giving. The library will provide six sewing machines, the tote bag kit, and all supplies necessary to make the tote. Attendees will make the tote under Trapp’s supervision and be able to take it home that day. Those who choose to attend must have some experience using a sewing machine, but no other special sewing abilities are necessary. You will learn how to add a zipper, use cork material, and basic pocket and tote bag construction. The kits have been purchased by the library and the cost is being covered by the patrons. Kit costs for patrons is $25 dollars and will only be payable by cash or check. Due to limited space, attendance is limited to six people. When registering, attendees will be asked the color of the kit they want to make. Due to limited availability, attendees will be asked to give a first and second choice of the color of their kit.
