(Beaver Dam) A Dodge County jury found a Brandon man guilty of soliciting a minor for sex. Dean Krohn was convicted on five felonies including Child Enticement, Soliciting a Child for Prostitution, and Sexual Intercourse with a Child. A Beaver Dam police officer was dispatched to the hospital in January of 2021 after a staff member reported their concerns that a minor was being sex trafficked. The teen victim said that Krohn paid her $300 on multiple occasions. The victim also said it happened between 10 and 15 times. When questioned, Krohn at first denied the accusations but later admitted that it occurred roughly four to five times. Krohn faces roughly 75 years in prison. The 47-year-old will be sentenced on December 2nd.

(Beaver Dam) A plea and sentencing hearing was scheduled this week for a Beaver Dam man charged with running from police. Gideon Kloske is facing a felony charge of Fleeing. If convicted, the 21-year-old faces no more than six years in prison. The plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 29th.

(Wisconsin) Weather conditions were a factor in a head on crash that left two dead in Columbia County. A driver and passenger were killed in a two-vehicle crash near Rio just after 6:30pm Thursday night. The sheriff’s department says the operator lost control on a snowy and icy stretch of Highway B and struck a truck head on. The passenger was found by first responders dead at the scene while the driver was in serious condition. Lifesaving measures were performed but the individual succumbed to their injuries on scene. The driver of the truck was not hurt. No names have been released but authorities say everyone involved in the crash is from the Rio area.

(Fond du Lac) Authorities have arrested a Fond du Lac man suspect of murder. Charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide and Resisting have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office against the 57-year-old. Fifty-one-year-old Jacqueline Jo Rooney was found dead in her home on East Merrill Avenue when police were asked to do a welfare check last Saturday. An investigation is still ongoing.

(Columbus) The Columbus City Council adopted the budget for 2023 this week. The $21.1-million-dollar document includes a tax levy of $4.05-million. The mill rate is $8.05 per thousand-dollars of assessed value, which is an increase of 1.42-percent without any tax credit applied.

(Beaver Dam) The Paddle City Big Band will be holding their inaugural concert at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theater tomorrow (Sunday, November 20th). A big band, also known as a jazz orchestra, is a type of jazz music ensemble of ten or more musicians consisting of four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. Tickets are $15 dollars and can be purchased online at bdact.org.

(Green Lake County) Green Lake County officials are asking the public’s help for a woman whose residence was destroyed by fire Sunday night. The home of Maddie Webb at 115 Park Street in the village of Kingston was a total loss and most of her belongings were destroyed in the blaze. The Kingston Millpond Library has agreed to be a drop-off site if anyone would like to donate cash, checks, or gift cards. Officials say any amount would be appreciated to help Webb get back on her feet as the holiday’s near.
