(Beaver Dam) Everyone in attendance spoke in support of allowing ATVs and UTVs on all city streets in Beaver Dam during a public involvement meeting Monday night. A draft ordinance would restrict the machines for operating on major thoroughfares. No one spoke in opposition to ATVs. The city’s Operations Committee will review public comments and – if given the green light – staff would redraft the ordinance as needed before it goes to the council floor where there would be an opportunity for a formal public hearing.

(Juneau) The Dodge County Executive Law Enforcement Association annual memorial ceremony is next Wednesday, May 17th. It will take place at the Dodge County Law Enforcement Memorial Site in front of the Administration Building located at 127 East Oak Street in Juneau. The ceremony will honor 12 individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty in Dodge County. Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler will be this year’s keynote speaker. The memorial ceremony gets underway at 11:15am and is open to the public.

(Arlington) One person was killed after a motorcycle and vehicle collided in the town of Arlington Sunday. Columbia County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene on Highway K and Smokey Hollow Road around 2:49pm. The initial investigation showed that an SUV had stopped at a stop sign but then pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The 77-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead by Med Flight. The 16-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

(Mayville) A Fond du Lac man accused of running from Mayville police made his initial appearance in court Monday. Evan Clark was pulled over last month after allegedly passing a truck and a squad car while speeding in a no passing zone on Highway 28. The 24-year-old initially pulled over, but later fled driving through backyards before abandoning the vehicle. He reportedly refused commands at gunpoint to surrender and jumped into the Rock River. After less than one minute, Clark returned to shore saying (quote) “I’m done.” A needle found in his possession apparently tested positive for cocaine. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 15th.

(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac authorities are searching for two suspects in connection to a Sunday night shooting that killed one person and left two others injured. When first responders arrived at the Maplewood Commons apartment complex, they found three victims of the shooting. One, 20-year-old Tatyanna Zech, who died at a hospital. Two others, an 18-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, were also hospitalized. Two persons of interest have been identified. Temporary felony warrants have been issued for 17-year-old Antonio Johnston and 14-year-old Parise Larry Jr.

(Waupun) Traffic was steady during SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital’s free drive-thru paper shredding event last Wednesday in celebration of Earth Day. About 100 cars drove through the hospital back driveway leaving behind 4,500 pounds of shredded materials. SSM Health partnered with Iron Mountain Information Management, LLC, to shred confidential documents which will ultimately be recycled to make paper towels, napkins, tissue, and toilet paper.
