(Waupun) An SSM Health Pharmacy clerk in Waupun was a recent recipient of the BEE Award. The BEE Award, which stands for Be Exceptional Everyday, recognizes non-nursing staff members who demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills, collaboration, professionalism , exemplary service, and a commitment to excellence. Gloria Rens was nominated after helping a patient called on a Saturday who was out of medication and was checking on an anticipated home delivery.
(Fond du Lac) Moraine Park Technical College will be hosting a Computer Numerically Controlled Field Day on May 15 from 5pm to 7pm at the West Bend campus. This is an exploratory event for the College’s CNC/Tool and Die Technologies program allowing interested students, their families, incoming students and the public to learn more about the program. The field day event will include an introduction to the program, a Q and A session, guest speakers, tours of the lab, and breakout sessions for attendees to learn about books, toolkits, scholarships, and financial aid. (Lebanon) A church in Lebanon will host a food pantry distribution event this coming week. The monthly Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday. The cost is $25 per share and those going can purchase more than one. Organizers say each share may not be identical but will contain at least $100 to $150 worth of groceries. The event gets underway at 3:30pm and continues to 6pm or until all 336 shares are gone. Guests are asked to stay in their vehicle until they are directed to pick up their share.
(Dodge County) Dodge County vehicle sales continue to see improvement over last year’s numbers. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, there have been a total of 960 car and light truck sales in Dodge County in the first four months of 2023, 39 more than last year or an increase of 4.2-percent. Car sales were up nearly eight-percent while truck sales jumped 3.8-percent.
(Beaver Dam) Migratory birds is getting a day of recognition in Beaver Dam. The city’s Common Council this week adopted a resolution designating today (Saturday, May 11th) as International Migratory Bird Day. International Migratory Bird Day is observed nationally, usually on the second Saturday in May.
