(Waupun) Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash the claimed the life of a Menomonee Falls woman in a two-vehicle crash in the township of Waupun over the weekend. Authorities say 20-year-old Alexa Dunn crossed over the centerline on Highway 26 and struck a commercial motor vehicle head-on. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle, identified as 64-year-old Michael May of Randolph, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
(Waupun) SSM Health Memorial Hospital in Waupun is introducing an outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation program beginning on March 11. The program includes exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families. Education and counseling will also be provided by professionals on topics including breathing strategies, respiratory devices, and medications. There will be a free public open house on March 11 from 1pm to 3pm.
(Mayville) The City of Mayville is looking to expand their housing availability, including exploring new sites. Mayor Rob Boelk says there is a company called Dayton One LLC who is looking to build 18 to 36 more units on Dayton Street. He says the city needs more residential side by side housing that includes condos and town houses.
(Beaver Dam) The Fond du Lac Area Foundation and Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation, in partnership with Compeer Financial, have announced the recipients of the 2024 Rural Vitality Grant. A total of $50,000 was awarded to organizations in Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties for projects supporting agriculture, education, mental health, and more in rural communities.
(Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection received and responded to 11,374 written consumer complaints in 2024. One of the top complaints in 2024 was landlord-tenant issues.
