(Waupun) Fond du Lac County authorities have identified the Waupun women killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night. Sarah Lemmenes was southbound on Highway 151 in the Town of Waupun when she rear-ended another vehicle operated by 18-year-old Edgar Ruiz from Beaver Dam. Her vehicle rolled several times, ejecting her. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead the scene. Ruiz and his two passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

(Portland) A Reeseville man has been accused of assaulting two minors. According to the criminal complaint, Terry Gould inappropriately touched the victims on multiple occasions. One of the victims allegedly said that it happened (quote) “more times than he could count on his fingers and toes.” If convicted, the 46-year-old faces 280 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for March 28th.

(Reeseville) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has selected two of their deputies to represent the department as its primary law enforcement presence in Reeseville. The agency began policing the area at the beginning of the year after village leaders reached out last spring to discuss contracting services.
Deputy’s Michael Matoushek and Martin Keberlein were picked. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says both are excellent at developing relationships and helping through problem-oriented and community policing.

(Juneau) A Dodge County Board Supervisor wants the option to attend a limited number of meetings virtually. Currently, county board rules allow board members to take part by either telephone or other electronic means, but they do not have a vote. Supervisor Donna Maly’s proposed rule change would allow board members who attend virtually to vote at county board meetings only, but they could not participate in closed session. Board members could only participate virtually for three meetings in a calendar year. The county board will vote on the proposed change at their meeting next Tuesday.

(Dodge County) The average gas price in Dodge County is $3.95 a gallon. That’s according to the Triple-A fuel gauge which reported Wednesday that statewide, gas prices are $3.99 on average. In Fond du Lac County it is $3.98, $3.96 in both Columbia and Washington counties, $3.99 in Jefferson County, and gas is $3.97 in Green Lake County.

(Wisconsin) The partisan probe into the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin will continue until at least the end of April. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has signed a new contract with special counsel Mike Gableman. Vos calls Gableman’s performance “outstanding,” but has faced, in his words, “unwarranted resistance.” Gableman’s original $675-thousand-dollar contract expired at the end of last year. – WRN
