(Dodge County) Authorities have identified those involved in two separate motorcycle crashes that occurred on Saturday in Dodge County. The first accident involved Donald Rennhack of Brandon who was ejected from his bike in Lowell. Law enforcement note that the 45-year-old was not wearing a helmet and prior to being flown from the scene, he was placed under arrest for a misdemeanor OWI offense. Twenty-one-year-old Hunter Frankenstein of Beaver Dam lost control of his motorcycle in the township of Trenton around 4:30pm Saturday and was seriously injured. Both crashes remain under investigation.
(Columbus) The police chief of Columbus is praising the public for their role in a homicide investigation. Forty-two-year-old Jose De Jesus Fuentes Hernandez of Columbus was shot and killed sometime around 1:30am on July 4th. Chief Dennis Weiner says thanks to a review of various video camera footage provided by the community, it helped lead law enforcement to identifying a suspect. He adds that it was key to solving the case.
(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Fire Department had a busy seven-day stretch last week. Officials with the agency say they responded to 82 calls between June 30th and July 6th. Theat includes 66 EMS calls and 16 fire and rescue related calls. The department says this breaks down to approximately 11 calls per shift, or over a 24-hour period.
(Beaver Dam) A recent donation was made toward Swan Park Phase III renovation and the bandshell. Dr. Marilyn Kay Thomas presented the Swan Park Advisory Committee and the city of Beaver Dam with a $10,000 check. Beaver Dam began design work for phase III of Swan Park improvements this spring, which included the bandshell and seating area as well as the outer walkway around the park. Current estimates for this project phase are over $1.5-million-dollars. Depending on financial support, the city hopes to begin construction in 2025.
(Beaver Dam) The Seippel Center for Music and the Arts is inviting residents to attend their free Seippel Summer Series Concert in the Garden tonight (Tuesday night) at 6pm, featuring the Elwood Lee Trio. Parking is available with the entrance on Spring Street, just north of the main drive.
