(Hustisford) A UTV operator was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated after his vehicle fell through the ice in the town of Hustisford Sunday. The driver, reportedly identified as Adam Malterer, was heading north on Sinissippi Lake when the UTV went through the ice. A passenger and the 45-year-old Malterer were rescued from the water without injuries. Malterer is facing a charge of Operating a UTV/ATV While Under the Influence First Offense.
(Watertown) The Watertown Police Department say they have been investigating several different scam complaints. Officials encourage the public to double check with family or friends if they are the ones asking for money. They also recommend not sending funds or deposit checks to someone you do not know and to never provide confidential information such as security, credit card, or bank account numbers. Law enforcement adds that if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
(Juneau) January is National Radon Action Month. Officials with Dodge County Public Health say citizens can get a free radon text kit from their department at 199 County Road DF in Juneau. They say that the naturally occurring, radioactive gas can cause lung cancer if exposed to it for prolonged periods of time and that one out of 10 homes in Wisconsin have high radon levels.
(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College sees enrollment from several different areas, but especially from high schools. Vice President of Teaching and Learning Doug Hamm says that area is one of the biggest areas of growth. He adds that the college provided $512,000 dollars of academic college credit throughout Dodge County, with $242,000 dollars in Beaver Dam alone.
(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Community Library has recently added more kits to their Beyond Books Collection. The ability to purchase is courtesy of $500 dollar grant from the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation. The kits contain items focused on the mental and physical wellbeing of patrons.
